Usain Bolt is set to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming a professional footballer, after joining the Australian team Central Coast Mariners on trial for six-weeks.
The eight-time Olympic gold medallist, Bolt has repeatedly expressed his desire to play football at a professional level despite being in his early thirties.
Bolt’s agent, Tony Rallis announced the agreement between his client and the Australian side.
“The deal between the Mariners and Usain Bolt in principle has been agreed, subject to a couple of benchmarks,” he said at the Big Sports Breakfast radio show earlier today.
“It is crucial to note that all discussions between the Central Coast Mariners and Bolt require an initial six-week trial period and no contract is guaranteed.”
Bolt will be hoping all goes well and will be looking forward to having a permanent deal in place with the club.
